Antler Credit: Thomas Shurtz
Location: Oregon
Date: 1980s

Comments: Back in the early 1980s Tom Shurtz found a single elk shed in Eastern Oregon that was magnificent in size.  For years he tried to find or locate the other side.   Finally, after years of searching, he heard of someone who also had a big single shed from that area.  Contacting this person found to be the gold mine.  After sharing stories, Tom realized he just had found the other side.  Neither one being willing to sell their single side to the other, they both agreed to get a cast done of the set and so the antlers could be scored.  Each person now could keep their single side original and also have both sides from the cast.

These awesome sheds have 65" main beams and 27" royal points scoring an impressive 442 gross typical with a 55" inside spread.
