Trouble with this Huge Canadian Whitetail? |

|
A big whitetail buck from northwestern Ontario, a region not noted for monster deer, caused quite a stir in early November 2003. At first report, the huge 5x6 buck was rumoured to score high enough to challenge the Hanson Buck but more recent reports put the actual net green score around 199 typical, likely making it the biggest whitetail ever killed by a hunter in Ontario. But, thats not where the story ends. After an investigation by Dryden Ministry of Natural Resource Officers, it was determined that the buck was likely shot after legal light and the suspected hunters, two Americans, fled the scene, leaving the buck lying in the field. No charges have been laid and the suspects have refused to respond to a summons. Unless the pair return to Canada, it is unlikely they will have to face any charges. |
