Attacked by a
Mountain Lion
by Dennis Wintch
<----- Sound Off |

The winter months can be long so years ago I took up coyote
hunting and got hooked. During the hey-days of fur market I spent many days every
month calling in these "wily" varmints. One particular morning I was set
up against some trees and started making the distress call in a new area. |

After several attemps with no coyotes, I was
about to make a change in position when out of the bushes in front of me a large mountain
lion sprang straight towards me thinking I was a mid morning snack |

I had no time to think. I raised my rifle, and
shooting from the hip, I shot the lion as it lunged at me. The big cat fell just
feet from where I was standing. It obviously took a few minutes to gain my
composure. |
